Nic Brown Few extreme metal/hardcore bands are as genuinely transgressive or nihilistic as they believe themselves to be but Bleak is very much the real deal. "We Deserve Our Failures" is a violently aggressive fusillade of sludgecore virulence which rivals Primitive Man's "Scorn" for sheer, unmitigated pitilessness. The riffs alone could bludgeon a diplodocus to death and vocalist Skot doubtless gargles with nitric acid. Savage. Favorite track: Handicapper General.

Dean Roe I had expectations for this release. It far surpassed them. Heavy. Catchy. Annihilating. Love this album and this band. Favorite track: Death By 1000 Cuts.

Plopsicle I used to love things: dew drenched grass on an October morning, the smell of coffee, the sound of laughter, laughter, my family, life, oxygen and this album has sucked all of that out of me.

Now I punch grass right in the face and kick the smell of coffee's arse! This album will change you. It's that good.

Now go suffocate.

Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. Saw BLEAK play in San Diego California with Colombian Necktie and Deep Sea Thunder Beast. Know nothing about them but when they hit the stage the shit got real.
